Workshop on PDEs: Modelling,
Analysis and Numerical Simulation

PDE-MANS 2020

Granada, January 8-16

 

This is the website of the 2020 edition of the Workshop on PDEs: Modelling, Analysis and Numerical Simulation. The general topics of the workshop are applications of PDE, kinetic equations and population balance models. Talks will treat several recent areas of application of PDE, especially neuron dynamics, population models in biology, collective behaviour and kinetic theory, including their numerical analysis. 

PDE-MANS Winter School (January 8-10)

The school will be held from January 8 to 10 and will consist of four courses, each of 4 hours. They will be advanced courses, aimed at early-stage researchers. The courses will be given by:

  1. Ulrik Fjordholm (University of Oslo). Computing measure-valued and statistical solutions of hyperbolic conservation laws.
  2. Gero Friesecke (Technical University of Munich). Crystallization in classical particle systems.
  3. Eva Löcherbach (Université Paris 1) Stochastic models for neural networks
  4. Sylvia Serfaty (New York University / Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences) Mean field limits for Coulomb-type interactions.

There will be a small number of grants to cover accommodation of students attending the school, and preference will be given to researchers at an early stage and with no other sources of funding. If you request funding, we will contact you as soon as possible in order to confirm whether we will be able to cover it.
